BCRCF field is East of Columbus, Indiana located at the closed Petersville Landfill on about 52 acres of land. We have nice grass 750' runway, pilots stations and starting benches, a picnic shelter, stotage shed, gravel drive and parking lot. We have a nice gas grill for members to use.

The landfill is behind a locked gate that is only open to the public on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM when the convienience station is open for trash drop off. Club members are provided a key to our lock for access at other times. Non BCRCF memebers are welcome to fly as a guest if accompanierd by a current club member, but must have a current AMA membership and card. Smoking is only permitted in the gravel areas.

We are extememly appreciaitive to the Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District, Jim Murray and the County Commisionsers. We cannot thank them enough for allowing us to put this land to good use, and are fortunate to have such a great (and ever improving) facility.

Directions
The physical address of the field is 10191 E 25th Street, Columbus, IN 47203.
GPS coordinates are: 39 degrees, 13'30, .37" N - 85 degrees, 48', .o4.00" W

From the South:
From I-65 take the SR 46 East exit. Follow the signs for SR 46 through the downtown area (this is also 2nd street), but do not take 46 E where it turns right and becomes State Street (the big Cummins factory will be on your left). You will go straight here and you will then be on Central Ave. Stay on Central Avenue about .6 miles and take a right onto 10th street.  Follow 10th street past Walmart, go past SR 31, and the road will then become Taylor Road. Follow Taylor up to 25th street. Turn right onto 25th street, go approximately 4 miles, the landfill gate and flying field will be on your left. You can also stay on Central Ave. until you hit 25th street and turn right onto 25th, but this route is a bit longer and there is typically more traffic.

From the North:
From I-65 take the first Columbus exit (SR 31- Edinburgh/Taylorsville) and head south into Columbus. Stay on US 31 (which is also called National Road once you get into town) until you come to 25th street (there's a Burger King and CVS at that intersection). Turn left (east) onto 25th street and follow it out of town. The landfill gate and flying field  is about 3 miles east of town on your left.

From the East:
From SR 46 at the intersection of SR 9 and 46 go straight, do not follow 46. You will then be on 25th street.  The field gate is about 1.55 miles on the right.

From the West:
Come into town on SR46. From there follow the "From the South" Direction above.

The field telephone has been installed!
The number is 812-375-4095

While it is still recommended to e-mail club members, or post a note on our Facebook page, that you intend to be at the field at a certain time in the future, or call your buddies to arrange being there, you can now call the field to see if anyone is there before going out on a whim. Remember, we don't recomend flying alone. The phone is installed on the frequency board.

If you are at the field and the phone rings, please answer it, if you can.

Recent (Sept. 2012) photos of field improvements.
Lots of work happening in the last couple of weeks. The low area in the north
pits has been filled. The runway has been widened by 35' on the east side.
Eventually the pilot's stations will be moved 20' east.

Hats off to Dave McDonely for all the time and effort he's been putting in to the field!

And a big thank you to Rust Construction of Seymour for a great job!
