Since 2009 the BCRCF has held a Giant Scale (Big Bird) fly-in in honor of Joe Grube, one of our club's charter members. Joe was a great guy, an avid modeler, and was well known in the area for the giant scale planes he and his brother Glenn built for the local Atterbury/Bakalar Air Museum . Sadly, we lost Joe in August of 2008. The membership wanted to do something to commemorate Joe and his contribution to the club, and with the blessing Joe's family, the first Joe Grube Big Bird Fly-In was held August 8, 2009.

The 2012 Joe Grube Big Bird Fly-In is schedules for Saturday, August 11th. This event is open to giant scale aircraft (80" minimum for monoplanes, 60" minimum for bi-planes).  Sorry, no Jets allowed. AMA membership is required.

There is a $10.00 landing fee for pilots, and free admission for the general public.
